Although this is a fully functioning quartz clock, it has been designed to closely resemble a genuine aircraft airspeed indicator. The appearance is so authentic that one of the companies MWC produced these clocks for — who operated a shop on an active airfield — reported that even an aircraft mechanic initially believed it to be a real cockpit instrument until inspecting it more closely.
The clock features a highly detailed aviation-style dial, twin indicator pointers, a glass face, and a replica adjustment knob for authenticity. The adjustment knob itself is decorative only, with time adjustment carried out conventionally via the rear setting wheel, as with a standard quartz clock.
The principal difference between this clock and an actual aircraft cockpit instrument is simply the power source. A genuine aircraft gauge would be connected directly to the aircraft’s electrical system, whereas this unit operates independently using a single AA battery.
Its silent sweep quartz movement ensures quiet operation with no audible ticking, making it ideal for offices, workshops, studies, aviation displays, or collectors of military and aeronautical memorabilia.
