This GMT dual time zone watch in a covert black stainless steel finish is one of MWC’s newest models. It features a high-performance quartz Ronda 515.24 movement, housed in a robust 300m water-resistant casing, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, water sports, and scuba diving. However, as a GMT watch, its bezel is not specifically designed for diving applications.
Understanding the GMT Function
The concept behind GMT watches is both ingenious and straightforward. Unlike a conventional watch, where the hour hand completes a full cycle in 12 hours, a GMT watch includes an additional 24-hour hand, which completes one full rotation in 24 hours.
This additional hour hand allows you to track two different time zones simultaneously, while the 24-hour bezel provides a clear reference to distinguish AM from PM.
How It Works:
✔ 24-hour hand circles the dial once per day instead of twice, as with a standard hour hand. ✔ The tip of the GMT hand indicates the corresponding hour in the second time zone. ✔ The 24-hour bezel scale helps differentiate AM and PM, eliminating confusion.
