General Service Military Pocket Watch (24 Jewel Automatic with Option to Hand Wind)
SKU: PW/E2/BD
Military pocket watches, along with their civilian equivalents, are seeing a huge increase in popularity. Historically, they were often used for both land-based and naval applications. During WWII, they were frequently used by RAF and USAAF navigators and bomb aimers (US: Bombardier) in preference to conventional watches. Aircrews often found it easier to place their pocket watch on the chart, bench, or in the nose of the aircraft while working or approaching the target. Another reason pocket watches were popular is that wristwatches at the time were very small and hard to read, with an average diameter of just 32mm. The pocket watch’s larger size, close to 50mm, made the time much easier to see.
MWC offers several variants of this watch with different specifications to meet specific client requirements. This variant features a 24-jewel automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve. The watch can also be hand-wound if needed and has a hacking feature for synchronization or to stop the watch to conserve power if it won't be used for an extended period.
