Overview

The MWC “Naval Crew” range is designed for professional military divers and demanding environments where absolute reliability is non-negotiable. This specific model, finished in covert non-reflective black PVD stainless steel, was developed for use aboard submarines and naval vessels, particularly for situations where preserving night vision is critical.

These watches were originally commissioned by submarine crews who needed timepieces suitable for "rigged for red" lighting conditions—red illumination used to preserve night vision when surfacing or using a periscope at night, dawn, or dusk. The bright red T100 GTLS tritium tubes on this model provide exceptional low-light readability without disrupting ambient red lighting, giving operators a critical edge when timing really matters.

Key Features

  • Rugged Construction:
Made from solid 316L stainless steel with a tough PVD finish, this model is built to endure. It’s equipped with a shatter- and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal featuring dual anti-reflective coating.

  • GMT Functionality:
Powered by the Ronda 515.24H quartz movement, this watch features an independently adjustable 24-hour hand—perfect for tracking dual time zones. The hacking feature allows precise time sync, a must-have for mission coordination.

  • Serious Dive Capabilities:
With a 500m (1,640ft) water resistance rating, screw-down crown, and a ceramic rotating bezel designed for excellent grip in cold or wet conditions, this watch is ready for any underwater challenge—from mixed gas diving to rough surface ops.

  • Helium Escape Valve:
Professional saturation divers will appreciate the integrated automatic helium release valve—a critical feature during decompression, preventing internal pressure build-up that could damage the watch or pose a safety hazard.

  • Superior Illumination:
Features T100 tritium GTLS tubes for constant visibility—no charging required. Ideal for night missions, underwater ops, and low-light environments.

  • Covert PVD Finish:
The ultra-durable matt black PVD finish isn’t just for looks. It’s chemically bonded at the molecular level for long-lasting performance, specified in many military and anti-terror contracts. Far superior to standard painted finishes.

Why Sapphire Crystal?

Many clients ask: "Why pay extra for sapphire?" The answer is simple—durability. Synthetic sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness. Unlike mineral glass, which is prone to cracking or scratching during impacts, sapphire is highly resistant to both. That’s why we use it in all our high-end models and why it’s becoming standard on premium tech like the latest iPhones.

Over 70% of our customers are military personnel, police, or outdoor professionals—and when they choose sapphire, it's because they need gear that can take a hit and keep going.
