MWC 1940s/1950s "Dirty Dozen" Pattern General Service Watch with 21 Jewel Automatic Movement - Needs Attention as Described
Description
MIL26-0715
Model: DD/01/AU/2
Condition: See notes below and actual images
Fault: The watch is not running, and the fixed bars have been removed. While this is not ideal, it is not an insurmountable problem. New fixed bars can be installed using a high-strength adhesive or liquid metal. Another common solution is to fit single-shouldered spring bars and permanently bond them into place, creating a secure and reliable replacement.

Manufacturers Product Overview
This DD/01/AU/2 is a classic military watch design based on the 1940s/1950s British military timepieces. Manufactured by MWC, it combines historical accuracy with subtle modern enhancements to ensure daily wearability.
This model uses a self-winding automatic movement (which can also be manually wound) in place of the original hand-wound type but retains all key visual features – including an acrylic crystal and black dial with luminous indices. The case is crafted from military-grade 316L stainless steel and fitted with a canvas strap true to the era.

Historical Context
The final image shows the original "Dirty Dozen" watches produced for the British Ministry of Defence during WWII by twelve renowned manufacturers: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor, and Vertex.
Though MWC was founded in 1974, well after these originals were issued, this model is built very much in the spirit of those historic timepieces.
