MWC Ltd Edition Classic Bronze Aviator Watch

This Limited Edition Bronze Aviator Watch is one of MWC's flagship Pilot models, drawing inspiration from classic military designs of the 1940s and 50s. Crafted from a copper and tin alloy, bronze offers unique advantages over stainless steel or titanium. It doesn’t corrode in the same way as other metals—instead, it naturally forms a protective patina. This evolving patina means that while every watch starts off looking identical, each one gradually takes on a character of its own, ensuring that no two watches ever look exactly the same.

Interestingly, despite its antique appearance, bronze cases only started appearing in watchmaking around 30 years ago—even though the metal itself dates back to before 3000 BC. It's also impressively durable: saltwater and brine can't penetrate or damage it, making it a top choice for maritime or adventurous use.

The Classic Aviator series is rooted in historical military watch design. Some variants feature a small subsidiary seconds dial above 6 o’clock—a hallmark of 1940s aviation timepieces—while others are equipped with a sweep second hand, which became more common from 1943 onward. This gives you the freedom to choose a model that suits your style preference, whether you're drawn to early-war charm or mid-century modern refinement.

With an extra-large case diameter of 46mm (excluding crown), this is a commanding watch that won’t go unnoticed. The bold dial, enhanced with Luminova markings, offers excellent visibility day or night, true to the functionality of its WWII predecessors.

Inside beats a 24-jewel NH35A automatic movement, visible through the clear caseback. When fully wound, it provides a robust 41-hour power reserve.

Why Sapphire Crystal?

We’re often asked: “What’s the benefit of a sapphire crystal over standard mineral glass?” Quite simply, sapphire is the gold standard. It’s incredibly strong, highly resistant to scratches, and far more durable under tough conditions. This makes it especially popular among military personnel, police officers, and outdoor professionals—who represent over 70% of our customer base.

In fact, when we receive watches with cracked crystals, over 90% of them tend to be those with mineral glass—even when it’s hardened mineral. Sapphire is different. After manufacture, it's heat-treated to eliminate internal stresses, making it less prone to breaking. It’s then coated with two layers of anti-reflective treatment for enhanced clarity. The same technology is now used on high-end smartphones, including the latest iPhone.
