We buy these watches from various defence auctions and other disposal sales and it's frequently the case that we find that there is actually nothing wrong with the watch but it has to be assumed it will have some form of fault though in most cases it's very minor or as described below. These watches are disposed of at low-cost because we find that one of the problems is pressure of time for our service staff in the UK and elsewhere and in most cases they have given them a quick check over and nothing is immediately apparent though we have to assume that there is either no real fault with the watch or something will reveal itself over time in which case it’s normally a simple case of a service, repair or battery exchange depending on the exact model

The 100m G10 series represents one of the highest-specification military G10 watches currently in production worldwide. Featuring a water resistance rating of 100m (330ft), a screw-down crown, screw-down caseback, and an impressive 10-year battery life, this model is a significant evolution of the classic G10 platform.

Although the design traces its origins back to MWC’s early G10 watches of the 1980s, this 100m variant marked the most substantial upgrade in the range when it was introduced for military contracts. It followed the earlier enhancement of the standard 50m G10 models in 2004 and remains a standout in terms of durability and specification. Notably, MWC is currently the only contractor producing NATO-spec infantry watches with a full 100m water resistance rating, compared to the more common 30m or 50m ratings offered by most manufacturers.

The combination of a screw-down crown and caseback significantly enhances water resistance, while the upgraded Ronda 715Li movement delivers a 10-year battery life—substantially reducing maintenance requirements over the lifespan of the watch.

The case features a sandblasted, non-reflective finish. This treatment, widely used on military watches in previous decades, offers superior anti-reflective properties compared to brushed or satin finishes. Although more costly to produce, sandblasting provides exceptional durability and a fully matte, covert appearance.

When MWC secured a contract for this model in 2009, the specification required a completely non-reflective, “covert” case finish alongside the enhanced water resistance features. Sandblasting was selected as the optimal solution, resulting in a highly functional, robust watch with excellent legibility and minimal visual signature.

Designed for extreme conditions, the G10 100m is exceptionally rugged and reliable. It is supplied with a current-issue grey NATO webbing strap, with additional strap options available in a range of colours. The caseback features contract markings along with a unique serial number.
