We source these watches from various defense auctions and other surplus sales. Often, we find that there is no major issue with the watch, but for transparency, we assume it may have minor faults. Most of these issues are insignificant and noted below. These watches are sold at a lower cost due to time constraints for our service staff in the UK and other locations, where only a quick assessment is typically performed. While no immediate faults may be visible, we acknowledge that minor issues may surface over time. In most cases, these involve simple fixes such as a service, repair, or battery replacement, depending on the model.
- Condition: Ex-Police Watch, Grade B (as shown in the images)
- Fault: The watch is running and was left on the Watch Winder for a day and then taken off and ran fine for two days hence, no faults are apparent. However based on its age, it could do with a service, a new Crystal as it's damaged and also a case polish.
Factory Description
The MWC Mk III Automatic is a modern recreation of the Ministry of Defence reference 6B/346 Mk XI. While closely resembling the classic military watches of that era, it offers significantly improved accuracy thanks to its modern automatic movement. Like iconic models such as the IWC MKXV, this watch maintains an authentic military aesthetic, appealing to both active and retired military personnel.
Due to budgetary constraints, most modern military forces cannot afford high-end watches like this when cheaper alternatives suffice. In the past, armed forces worldwide purchased watches from renowned brands such as Rolex, IWC, Omega, and Longines. Unfortunately, those days have passed. However, for those who still desire a high-spec military-style watch with authentic looks, the MKIII is the ideal choice. Every detail of this watch has been crafted with precision, from its high-performance movement to its brushed stainless steel case, reminiscent of 1950s and 1960s designs, and hand-finished in Zurich. The finish is superior to any current military watch.
