We recently received a shipment of ex-display watches from the SHOT Show in Las Vegas (USA). All of the watches were brand new, though they had been displayed in a cabinet for the duration of the show. Among the various brands included, there was one watch that initially couldn’t be identified. After some research, we discovered it was a Rotate North Limited Edition W10 Automatic, originally sold by Huckberry (see final image) for $330 / £249 / €285.

This particular piece was a one-off inclusion in the box, and from what we can tell, it hasn’t been available for quite some time — making it very likely the last new example of this model still in circulation.

Overview

The Rotate North W10 Automatic is a rare, limited-edition modern interpretation of the classic 1960s/70s British military W10 watch. While retaining the timeless military styling, this version introduces modern reliability and performance with 100m water resistance, a screw-down crown, and the robust Seiko NH35A automatic movement.

Historical Note

The original hand-wound W10 preceded the quartz G10/98 models that remain in service today. In 1980, the British Ministry of Defence explored adapting the W10 case for quartz movements, but the technology of the time made the movements too thick — prompting the development of the now-iconic G10 design.
