Factory Description

SKU Code: T/1224/SL23PV

This is the latest self-luminous G10 model from MWC's Combat Elite range. It features:
Titanium case with a 300m (1000ft) water resistance rating
Screw-down crown & caseback for enhanced durability
Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal
GTLS Tritium vials on hands and markers for superior night visibility
Luminova-coated digits and triangle markers for additional low-light performance

The covert matte black PVD finish is often specified in military contracts for special forces and anti-terrorist teams engaged in covert operations. Unlike lower-quality painted finishes that fade or wear off, PVD coatings chemically bond to the titanium surface at a molecular level, ensuring exceptional durability.

Even under extreme conditions, the PVD finish remains intact unless subjected to deep gouges or excessive abrasion against hard surfaces like rocks.

Key Features

Swiss Ronda 715li Movement – Ultra-low maintenance with a 10-year battery life
Self-Luminous GTLS Tritium Technology – 100x brighter than conventional luminous paint
Sapphire Crystal – Superior scratch resistance and durability
Titanium Case – Lightweight yet incredibly strong
Black Nylon Military Webbing Strap – Based on U.S. military patterns

This model follows American Military Specification Number: MIL-W-46374F, specifically designed for the North American market with a 12/24-hour dial format.

Tritium GTLS Illumination

This watch uses self-activated GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources), making it 100 times brighter than traditional luminous paint. Unlike regular luminous materials, which require external charging from a light source, GTLS vials glow continuously without the need for batteries or maintenance.

Each hour marker, hour hand, and minute hand contains a GTLS vial for exceptional night-time readability. While the vials contain a small amount of radioactive gas, their total activity remains well below the 25 millicurie personal limit, as regulated by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (10 CFR 30.15).

Designed for Military & Tactical Use

MWC developed these watches for a government contract, where the requirement was to withstand long-term storage without the risk of dead batteries. To address this, MWC selected the Swiss Ronda 715li movement, which offers a 10-year battery life, ensuring it is always ready for deployment.

The standard MWC G10 has been a trusted military timepiece since the 1980s, and while this model follows the same overall design, the titanium case places it in a league of its own.

Why Choose Sapphire Crystal?

Many customers ask why sapphire crystal is superior to standard mineral glass. Here’s why:

Scratch Resistance – Sapphire is incredibly resistant to scratches, making it ideal for tough environments.
Shatter ResistanceHeat-treated during manufacturing, sapphire crystal is stronger and more impact-resistant than mineral glass.
Anti-Reflective Coating – Two layers of AR coating enhance readability.
Used in High-End Devices – Sapphire crystal is now used on the latest iPhone screens, proving its durability.

Over 70% of our customers are military personnel, police officers, and security professionals, all of whom demand the most durable materials. While hardened mineral glass is still used in many watches, over 90% of cracked crystals we see are mineral glass, making sapphire the clear choice for long-term reliability.
