MWC 2001 Stainless Steel Military Diver’s Watch – NOS

Model: MWC/SS/DMK1

A Rare Opportunity – New Old Stock from 2001

We have secured a small quantity of unused MWC 2001 stainless steel divers’ watches, originally purchased for a long-running procurement contract between 1999 and 2022.

These watches are New Old Stock (NOS) – never issued, never worn, and still sealed in their original packaging since 2000/2001.

Visually, they are almost identical to the current MWC divers still in production today, but with minor specification differences that mark them as genuine early models from over 20 years ago.

Key Features

  • Authentic 2001 MWC Diver’s Watch – NOS

  • Stainless steel case – British MoD specification

  • Swiss Ronda 705/715 quartz movement – 60-month battery life

  • 300m / 1000ft water resistance – pressure tested

  • Screw-down locking crown

  • Unidirectional bezel

  • Hardened mineral crystal

  • Admiralty Grey heat-welded NATO strap

  • Supplied in MWC tin packaging (logos may vary)

  • 12-month guarantee

Heritage & Design

This model was in production from the early 1990s until 2004. The 1999–2001 dial pattern is widely regarded as the cleanest and most balanced version, closely resembling today’s MWC dials.

The design traces back to the British Ministry of Defence diver specification, making it part of the same lineage as military divers from:

  • CWC (still producing variants today)

  • Precista

  • Nilax

  • Heuer 844-1 (1979, pre-TAG)

  • Chronosport Sea Quartz 30 (famously worn by Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I.)

  • Elvia

The case itself was developed by MRP S.A., a renowned Swiss case manufacturer, and has been in continuous production for over 45 years – a testament to its durability and timeless design.

Collector Value

  • Exceptionally rare: Among the last known NOS 2001 models.

  • Historical significance: Direct connection to MoD diver contracts of the era.

  • Great value: Comparable build quality and heritage to CWC divers at a fraction of the price.

These watches were in storage for over 20 years with an MWC contract client. It is unlikely that more of this original stock will surface again.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a high-quality, historically significant military diver’s watch, this is an exceptional opportunity. Quantities are extremely limited, and once these NOS 2001 models are gone, they are unlikely to appear again.
